Our mission includes the dedication to a safe and attractive downtown. ADI continues to be an involved participant in the planning and design of downtown. Our partnership with business owners, City government and law enforcement strives to reduce crime in the central city.
To assist in the revitalizing of downtown buildings, ADI teamed up with Hoffman Corporation to prepare a document to give guidance and direction to the revitalization process. The Design Guidelines include rehabilitation standards, a look at building materials and components as well as recommended building façade design guidelines. A copy of the Appleton Downtown Design Guidelines is available in the ADI office.
Our involvement in physical design also encompasses our efforts toward an attractive downtown. New projects have added urban attractiveness such as the Adopt-A-Planter campaign (new for 2007). Ongoing challenges for ADI include a refuse-free downtown, as well as addressing the parking needs and concerns of our businesses and visitors.
