The 70th Appleton Flag Day Parade is scheduled to occur on Saturday, June 12, 2021.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Home of the Brave,” honoring hometown heroes of the pandemic. The parade will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Oneida Street and process west on Wisconsin Avenue, south on State Street, east on College Avenue to Drew Street where it will disband.
Fox Cities residents have honored “Old Glory” in Appleton since 1950, making the Appleton Flag Day Parade the nation’s oldest. This celebration annually attracts hundreds of participants from throughout the state and nation, and more than 50,000 spectators to Appleton.
The Appleton Flag Day Parade can be found on Facebook where updates and other news related to this event will be regularly published.
The parade will occur with the following COVID-19 mitigation strategies encouraged: spectators and participants should wear face coverings, physically distance from those outside of their household, and wash their hands or apply hand sanitizer regularly.
Should COVID-19 disease activity levels trend upward, the Appleton Flag Day Parade will be rescheduled to Saturday, September 11, 2021, with a public announcement no later than May 21, 2021.
