Join authors Robin and Joan Rolfs as they kick off the museum’s celebration of 140 years (1882 - 2022) of being the first home anywhere in the world lit by hydroelectricity and a central Edison system.

The Rolfs will tell the tales of Henry Rogers and his business partners bringing electric light to the Valley and green energy to the world. They will also catalogue the remarkable electrical history that is still a part of Hearthstone today. The presentation includes a tour of the museum to see the beautiful lighting fixtures, historic switches, and wiring, all unchanged in 140 years, that are all still in place throughout the residence.

Please note that touring the museum requires climbing 25 steps to reach the second floor.
