Appleton Downtown & Trail Plan Design Workshop
The purpose of the design workshop is to help build consensus around priority action items and projects within the downtown study area as well as the City’s off street trail network. The workshop will address land use, transportation, place-making, and specific redevelopment/new development opportunities within the study area.
Public Meetings
Monday May 16, 9am to 10am. Meet at Houdini Plaza
Join the SEH consultant team for a guided tour of downtown, highlighting some of the key issues and opportunities which will be looked at over the 3-day planning process. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their own thoughts and ideas during the walk.
Monday May 16, 6pm to 8pm. Atlas Mill Building – Gathering Room, 425 W Water Street adjacent
The public is invited to a kick off meeting for the Appleton Downtown & Trail Plan Design Workshop. The consultant team will share background information on the study area, which includes downtown Appleton as well as the City’s existing and proposed off street trail network. Participants will have an opportunity to review the draft guiding principles for the project and provide their own ideas for enhancing downtown Appleton and the City’s off street trail network.
Tuesday May 17, 9am to 11am. Meet at Houdini Plaza.
The public is invited to join the consultant team for a bike ride along some of the City’s off street bike trails including along the Fox River. Participants will have an opportunity to share their ideas for enhancing trail connections, trail access, and important bicycle and pedestrian nodes.
Tuesday May 17, 12:30pm to 1:30pm. City Center - Board Room
The public is invited to review and comment on draft alternative design concepts. Early stage drawings and illustrations will be used to guide the discussion.
Wednesday May 18, 5pm to 7:30pm. City Center - Board Room and Foyer/Hallway
The public is invited to attend an open house format meeting to review display boards and leave comments on proposed concepts generated over the three day design workshop. There will be a 20-30 minute formal presentation at 5:30pm and at 6:30pm.
