While admiring the Fiber Rain & Garden Art creations, be sure to stop in to shop & dine at the local small businesses in the district. From local boutiques, food & drink, and so much more; experience how the arts are a part of your every day life!
In art, a chair can symbolize the hope of a return, a welcome sign or simply an invitation for one to sit. Downtown Creates...Artful Chairs will feature up to 100 wooden chairs repurposed and upcycled to be painted or decorated pieces of art that will welcome the community back into the Downtown district for the start of One Great Summer.
Each chair will showcase talent from the community: local artists, nonprofits, students, families, businesses, and more! YOU can join in the artistic creation by creating an ARTFUL CHAIR to then have on display along College Avenue the weekend of June 18-20!
Submit a design/sketch of what your chair will look like to be reviewed by our selection committee for approval. Participate in JUST FOR FUN or IN IT TO WIN IT for your chance to win a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place prize.
Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as submitted starting May 10-June 16. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!
The week following the event, some of the chairs on display will be part of our ONLINE silent auction. Proceeds from the Artful Chairs in the auction will go to the Boys & Girls Club. More details coming soon.
While enjoying the ARTFUL CHAIRS on display, also be sure to stop by the Downtown Sidewalk Shops - Saturday, June 19: Shop & support local in an open-air environment while Downtown businesses have items outside on the sidewalks. Click here for list of participating shops.
