Get out on the Fox River!

For the first time since the 1980s there is now a tour boat on the riverfront in Appleton!   Fox River Tours started on Mother’s Day and will run tours Thursdays-Sundays until the end October.  The boat, named River Tyme Too, seats 34 passengers.  The boat was custom built in LaCrosse in 1981 and ran for several decades as the Peshtigo Princess.   The boat was purchased last fall and many significant improvements have been made.

Getting a boat to Appleton was actually three years in the making.   The boat was purchased in 2015 in Upstate New York to run tours in Appleton, but while in-transit the Menasha Lock was closed due to the discovery of the round goby, an invasive fish.  A quick decision had to be made, and that boat (River Tyme) has operated the last three seasons in De Pere.

Fox River Tours docks at the River Heath Development, just below the College Avenue Bridge.  Fox River Tours is excited to be a part of the redevelopment of the Historic Appleton Flats.  Long-time residents often say that they have never been on a boat ride on the Fox and Fox River Tours is happy to change that! Standard tours last 90 minutes and cost just $17.  Most tours head towards Little Chute, a tranquil trip past beautiful homes, but some tours go through the Appleton locks.  Tours include Summer Sunsets, Fridays Time to Unwind and Families on the Fox.  A complete calendar can be found at www.foxrivertours.com or by calling 920-422-6300.
