Appleton Downtown Inc. has many committees that are composed of downtown business owners, ADI members, board members, and other talented and downtown-passionate community members.

Creative minded community members, arts supporters, local artists and more meet monthly to discuss and support the Appleton creative economy movement by enhancing the cultural and artistic environment through the development of opportunities for community access to arts, music and culture. Past committee projects include: Out of the Box Traffic Control Boxes, numerous murals in the downtown district, outdoor musical instruments, the Parklet (outdoor space next to Copper Rock), and more.

Committee meets monthly on the third Wednesday of the month at noon to 1pm. The committee’s primary focus is to administer the Façade Enhancement Grant Program and the Business Recruitment Grant program. They monitor business and development activity within the district and assist with business recruitment and retention. Current members include BID Board members, City of Appleton Community Development Dept., representatives from various professions such as real estate, architecture, financial, and downtown business representatives.

Downtown bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues meet monthly on the last Tuesday of the month at 3:00pm to discuss and brainstorm upcoming events and promotions that can assist with bringing traffic to the hospitality industry.

Downtown business owners who meet monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30am to discuss and brainstorm retail events and promotions including, Spring Into Style: Ladies' Day, sidewalk sales, Shop, Sip & Stroll Win Walk, Small Business Saturday, as well as crossover with other ADI events.

This committee is not about marketing your business, it is centered on marketing Downtown as a vibrant destination. The committee’s work will be rooted in storytelling and building engaging content. Be prepared to share best practices from your industry, explore new opportunities for telling the downtown story and guiding the ADI team to develop and execute an annual strategic plan.
