We Love Mile of Music!

Yes, it’s true, we love Mile of Music and apparently, we're not the only ones! Now in its fifth year this music festival is making a name for itself locally, regionally and event nationally. This year more than 900 live music sets will be performed by more than 200 bands/artists in 70 venues along a one mile strip of Downtown Appleton! Festival organizers are expecting 50,000+ music lovers to attend one or more shows.

If you are one of those planning to attend and want to maximize your experience, be sure to pay attention to the 20 businesses along College Avenue with windows decorated to their favorite song or lyric. Based on the lyrics chosen and the plans we’ve seen, we are confident the creativity displayed will amaze you! After viewing them in person, head to the Appleton Downtown Facebook page and vote for your favorite so we can award the People’s Choice!

Twenty retailers have also elected to Adopt an Artist! This means that they will be acting as a home base for that artist throughout the weekend. Those stores will be playing the music of their adopted Mile 5 artist and may also have artist merchandise like CD’s and t-shirts available. Last year during the inauguration of this program the artists also stopped by the stores and signed autographs as their schedules allowed.

As if that isn’t enough of an incentive to enjoy Downtown Appleton, the businesses who have adopted an artist and/or decorated their windows will be hosting a drawing to register to win a Mile 6 Music-Makers Badge! This badge shows your support of the festival and gets you special reservations, seating, offers and more throughout the 2018 calendar year!
