Authentic German Cuisine, Old-world OB’s brewed German Beers, Nightlife experience Thursday – Saturday starting at 10pm
What inspired you to start your business?
I grew up on top of a pizza oven at my parent’s restaurant back in Germany – I wanted to continue the dream my parents had when we moved to America!
What are 3 words that describe your business?
Gastro – Brew Pub – Nightlife
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
“Sicher ist sicher”
Better safe than sorry
What's something about your business nobody knows?
We wouldn’t be here without my mom, Christine, and the amazing employees that we have. Our head chef, Patty, has been with us for over 16yrs – he and the rest of our employees are what make OB’s everything it is today.
What do you love most about being in Downtown Appleton?
The diversity of customers we get to meet and share our restaurant with! We have regulars who have been with us for over a decade, but every day brings in new faces – many from around the country – it’s always exciting!
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
Perpetually Wide-Awake! As a business owner, husband, and father of 2 – sleep is a luxury!
If you could describe your business as an animal, which one would it be and why?
der Hund (the dog) – because we are loyal and “we aim to please at OB’s!”
If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
Lederhosen as casual wear
Something else fun and unique about your business you want to share?
Our Authentic German Restaurant goes through a full transformation every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 10 pm!
