Downtown Appleton Farm Market
Owners: Community, Supporters, Farmers, etc.
What service(s) and/or product(s) do you offer?
Fresh local entertainment. Fresh local produce, bakery, meats and cheeses; as well as value added products.
What inspired you to start your business?
At the time market began, there was a need to offer the experience of shopping directly from the farmer, baker and candlestick maker. With so many communities offering the same type of opportunity, it continues to evolve for all.
What are 3 words that describe your business?
Energetic, Fresh and Colorful
If your business had a theme song, what would it be?
Torn between theme song for "Green Acres" and "I'm Walking on Sunshine"
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Always smile
What's something about your business nobody knows?
I'm keeping a secret journal of all the funny and odd things that happen at market. Just like school teachers can write a book filled with stories, so can Farm Markets!
What do you love most about being in Downtown Appleton?
The level of cooperation and synergy between the departments of the City of Appleton and the event.
What 3 items would you take with you on a deserted island?
Brussels sprouts, because they taste great raw. Coffee from ACOCA coffee, but it has to be sweet and creamy made by Blair, and finally a good pair of socks to keep my feet warm at night.
If you had to describe your business as an animal, which one would it be and why?
Animal - Goat. They're cute, they do their best to clean up the area, but if you're not careful, they will bump you. Tee hee.
What's the weirdest food you have ever eaten?
At market? Chocolate covered bacon, deep fried oreo, or a stuffed chicken wing. We're pretty tame.
Something else fun and unique about your business you want to share?
Each vendor has a story. They're all unique and different in their own ways, yet all work together for the same common good of the market. I know, "corny". Pun intended.
