Prior to Lawrence, she worked in the Artistic Operations Department and had other managerial responsibilities with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

Cannizzo is a graduate of Lawrence with a double major in piano performance and English, and has taught piano and performed as a concert accompanist.

"She brings enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to our organization as we enter our 45th season. And in addition to her background in arts administration, we will benefit from her unique business perspective gained as the operations manager and chief financial officer for a local company."

Cannizzo and her husband, Ralph, own Lee's Plumbing.

Cannizzo is the organization's fourth full-time Executive Director in its 45-year history.
