YAP Friendly

By Nathan Litt

Since the last post fellow YAPs have chimed in on some of their favorite places Downtown.  Copper Rock is a definite favorite for coffee and spending low-key afternoons.  Bazil's Pub is popular for its diverse and impressive beer selection, friendly staff, and "delicious" french fries.  Cena was cited as a great restaurant due to it's relaxing atmosphere and great wine selection.

What makes businesses like these "YAP friendly?"  Is it their prices, the employees, the location, or what the businesses have to offer?  We want to hear from you--let your fellow YAPs know!  Where are the Downtown "YAP friendly" places where you like to shop, eat, and play?

I am a YAP and I wouldn't have it any other way,

For me, the YAP Friendly elements of Appleton's downtown are effective because they work together. A place like Copper Rock works because there are so many people who work nearby, making a coffee-meeting there simple to schedule. The great restaurants attract YAPs because they are delicious as well as affordable. The arts and culture draw big crowds because there are places dine before the show, and places to imbibe afterward. This synergy is important for a "YAP Friendly" environment. We are YAPs, and we want it all!

And what exactly is a YAP?

Hi, Chris. "YAP" stands for Young Appleton Professional. It encompasses a a broad age range of 20-40 somethings; however, because age is what you make of it, anyone can be a YAP. YAP is a state of mind and being! The YAP movement is for those who live, work, and/or play in Downtown Appleton. We want to know your favorite places to eat, drink, shop, hang out, and more in Downtown!

Fox River House is definitely on my list! Reasons: great beer selection, outdoor seating (when weather cooperates), unbeatable prices, young and friendly staff...and skeeball and bags leagues!

I would hope that Angels Forever - Windows of Light is included as well since our business hours, ( Monday - Friday 10 am until 8 pm, Saturdays 10 am - 5 pm and Sundays noon - 5 pm) make us readily accessible for shopping after work hours!
