No on-street parking downtown Tuesday, free parking available in City ramps
The Appleton Department of Public Works is advising drivers there will be no on- street parking in the downtown area Tuesday. The restriction is due to the anticipated snowfall and resulting cleanup necessary before the Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade Tuesday evening.
Drivers are asked to be alert for crews clearing and removing snow on College Avenue and the downtown area. In addition to normal plowing, crews will be removing snow from College Avenue throughout the morning. The process involves first plowing the snow and later loading it into trucks to be hauled away.
Drivers needing to park downtown are urged to use any of the four downtown parking ramps which will offer free parking to allow crews to complete snow removal more efficiently prior to the parade.
Meters will be covered with bags stating no parking throughout the day Tuesday. Drivers should also plan extra time for getting around downtown Tuesday morning due to the anticipated volume of snow clean-up.
Full scale plowing of the city will begin around midnight and continue until all city streets are cleared. Please watch our website www.appleton.org, our Twitter feed (@cityofappleton) and Facebook page
