Entry Forms Available for Appleton's Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 30, 2016 marks the day of the annual City of Appleton Memorial Day Parade. The parade will begin promptly at 9:00 AM, at the corner of College Avenue & Appleton Street.
Entry forms are available now for organizations, businesses, and/or musical units, interested in participating. Those units interested in appearing in the 2016 Appleton Memorial Day Parade must return their completed forms by Thursday, March 31, 2016, in order to be considered for inclusion. This parade is dedicated to pay tribute to service men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving the United States. It is not a political or commercial endeavor.
Following the parade, the City of Appleton’s official Memorial Day ceremony will take place inside the historic Riverside Cemetery at the burial plot of the George D. Eggleston Post of the Grand Army of the Republic. Immediately following this ceremony will be an additional salute at the Oney Johnston/Edward Blessman Appleton American Legion Post No. 38 cemetery plot at the entrance of directly between Riverside Cemetery and St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
