The 66th Annual Appleton Flag Day Parade entry deadline is Monday, April 18th at 5:00pm.

Entry applications are available at www.appleton.org or info@appletondowntown.org. Decorative floats, musical units and marching bands are urged to apply. The selected participants will be notified via regular mail in early May.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 p.m. The event is recognized as the oldest Flag Day Parade in the nation. This year’s parade will be a tribute the United States Air Force and honor the many faces of freedom. The parade theme is “Let Freedom Ring” to observe the 75th Anniversary of the entry of the United States into World War II.

The event will feature military units and military marching bands from throughout the nation. It will include about 100 total units consisting of veterans' organizations, scout troops, patriotic floats, decorated vehicles, walking units and area marching bands. The parade begins at 2:00 p.m. from Wisconsin Avenue and Oneida Street, heading west. At State Street, it turns left and proceeds south to College Avenue. At College, it turns left again and proceeds east to Drew Street, dispersing at Drew Street and College Avenue.

WFRV-TV 5 will videotape the parade for re-broadcast in the Green Bay/Fox Cities area. This will allow viewers in all of Northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan to see the parade. For more parade information, visit www.appleton.org and click on the Visitors tab or follow the parade on Facebook.
