Introducing "Big Arts in The Little Apple"

The following blog was written by ADI's Marketing Director, Anne Wiegman.

Spring is here and the artwork is popping up all over Appleton.  This Community Celebration Exhibition is part of the Big Arts in the Little Apple, an exciting new community collaboration celebrating music and the visual arts.

The program began this past fall when The Building for Kids Children’s Museum and the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra partnered with art and music teachers across the Appleton Area School District to introduce 3rd and 4th-grade students to Ein Heldenleben by Richard Strauss. These students then responded to the piece through the creation of visual art.  Students were invited to listen to the music performed by our Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, and now, their artwork is on display throughout the community.

The artwork is displayed throughout the community, from the lobby of BMO Harris Bank to the fences around the construction site in Erb Park.  Please join us in empowering our children through creativity, celebrating the work of our art educators, and engaging the community through a shared appreciation of the artwork.
