Music enthusiasts attending Mile of Music in August will have a chance to visit a unique pop-up shop. Located at 513 W. College Avenue, the quaint shop of one-of- a-kind vintage clothing will be opening. Community Clothes Closet (CCC), a nonprofit organization in Menasha, is hosting the pop-up vintage clothes shop on Appleton Downtown’s west side.
The shop will feature clothing and unique accessories for men, women and children of all ages, from genres ranging from the 1950s – 1980s. The CCC has also partnered with St. Vincent De Paul in Appleton to feature some of its vintage furniture throughout the shop.
“We'll offer coats, shirts, pants, dresses, tops and jewelry in the mix,” Community Clothes Closet Executive Director Diane MacDonald states, “Incorporating vintage clothing into your everyday wardrobe is a fun, creative way to breathe new life into your wardrobe and support a worthy cause.” The Community Clothes Closet has held a Vintage Fashion Show for many years. This summer, the Community Clothes Closet decided to bring the fashions and the models to downtown.
“The CCC’s Vintage Pop-Up Shop is a new, fun and fresh way to raise funds while highlighting the Community Clothes Closet and its unique mission of clothing people in need for free,” said MacDonald.
Since 1980, Community Clothes Closet has aided thousands in Northeastern Wisconsin by offering clothes and other opportunities at no cost allowing community members utilizing CCC to save their money for other living expenses.
