Art on the Town: Paint on the Town
The third Friday of August is coming up quick which means it is time to immerse yourself in the world of art – join us Friday, August 18th to enjoy an evening of Art on the Town! Stroll the Avenue and paint your senses with music and rhythm, delicious
cuisine art and mixology, beautiful visual arts, and more all while experiencing the excitement art creates for the community.
Grab your family, loved ones, and friends for a night filled with creativity for everyone! Starting at 5 pm, visit downtown businesses and their artist-in- residence; enjoy talking to artists about their work, tasting cuisine art, and listening to diverse musical styles. You may even find yourself taking home artistic works you just cannot live without.
Also, be sure to swing down to Houdini Plaza at 3 pm for the final Creative Kids this summer. The Building for Kids, The Trout Museum of Art, and Appleton YMCA will have fun interactive, family-friendly art activities for children of all ages. You can expect the wide-variety of artistic offerings to engage, enlighten, and entertain.
This month’s theme, Paint on the Town, will allow you to discover your inner Picasso or Van Gogh with the opportunity to create your own masterpiece in the heart of Downtown Appleton. From 5-8 pm in Houdini Plaza, community “free” paint will occur; stop by to get some paint, a brush, and be inspired by downtown. While there, be sure to place your hand in the community mural sponsored by Pinot’s Palette.
