Appleton Farmers Market: 25 Years Strong
I started working at the Appleton Farmer’s Market last summer and I am amazed every week by the wonderful talent available for all to enjoy courtesy of our Wisconsin vendors. Right next to the information booth is City Café. They have a store in the City Center open during the week, but they sell the most amazing Asian tacos during market. The lemongrass chicken is my favorite!
Some of my other favorite booths at the market are Canada Roasted Corn, Mr. Reynebeau’s cookies, and On The Fritz (make sure to get the frosted pecans!). While there are great eats and treats, there are also some great local crafters and wonderful farm fresh offerings. Made by Mee has crochet hats in any character you can think of, while Pearly Grey has cute skirts and accessories.
There are produce vendors on every block of the market, stocked with fresh vegetables for you to bring home for your next meal. We have local salsa vendors like Hippy Wayne’s and Summertime Salsa, as well as homemade pasta from Dalla Terra Pasta. We even have someone who shears, spins, and dyes their own yarn! If you knit or crochet, check out Wheely Wooly Farm! And I believe it is the only place where you can eat corn in a cup while getting a henna tattoo!
The Appleton Farmer’s Market always has a wide variety of vendors to offer you options. Whether you are looking for something to eat, a gift for a friend, or meat, dairy or produce “to kick your next meal up a notch”, they’ve got you covered! It is no wonder that the Appleton Farmer’s Market is celebrating its 25th year! It is the perfect Saturday morning activity all year round with your kids, your spouse, or your best friend. We’re all family here!
