Small Business Saturday, November 24th is almost here! This annual holiday shopping tradition gets the community out in support of their favorite small businesses the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Starting back in 2010, it has grown into a powerful movement with more people and businesses taking part year after year.
A visit to a family-owned shoe store or swinging in for a cup of jo at your neighborhood coffee shop keeps the money local. Your purchase and support helps that family who can then do the same to help another family. The beauty of #ShopLocal is you can see the direct impact of the dollars going back into your community to make a difference! After all, when a small business thrives, we all thrive!
Wondering how you can get in on the biggest day of the year to support the Shop Small movement? We’ve got just the thing for you here in Appleton!
This year, nearly 100 small businesses in the City of Appleton will participate in the “Shop Appleton First Small Business Passport”, a way for you to receive rewards such as specials and discounts for when you Shop Small and Dine Small that day. You will be amazed at the multitude of small businesses throughout the City of Appleton who appreciate your support all year long!
How do you receive this passport to guide your shop small adventure on November 24? Glad you asked! You will find the passport available as an insert wrapper in the Thanksgiving Day Post Crescent newspaper and at participating retailers. OR download your own from home by clicking here.
Here’s the fun part! In addition to being rewarded with special discounts throughout the day as you tackle your holiday shopping list, present your passport to participating businesses to earn a stamp. For every 5 stamps you receive, you are rewarded with an entry for a chance to win from over $2000 worth of prizes. After you receive 5 stamps on your passport, leave it with the retailer and they will supply you with a new stamp…after all, the more stamped passports you submit, the more chances you have to win! This year’s grand prize is two roundtrip tickets to Fort Myers/Punta Gorda on Allegiant courtesy of the Appleton Airport!
