What is the name of your business and who is the owner(s)?

Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast – Keith & Lori Hansen, Owners

What service(s) and/or product(s) do you offer?

Beautiful room accommodations coupled with a full elegant breakfast.  Free parking, Wi-Fi, and complimentary hot and cold beverages are available to our guests.  Occasional specials and packages are available.  We have a small gift shop of logo keepsakes.

What inspired you to start your business?

Keith & Lori used to stay at small Inns and B&Bs and dreamed of one-day owning and running one.  In 2016 we had the opportunity to follow that dream.

What are 3 words that describe your business?

Comfortable, Relaxed, Homey

If your business had a theme song, what would it be?

Feels Like Home (music and lyrics by Randy Newman)

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Put your own personal mark on your B&B, let your guests know you through the experience of their stay.

What's something about your business nobody knows?

We host Murder Mystery events for groups of 6 -25 guests including team-building mystery events for company groups.  We are open to facilitating events at offsite venues with larger groups if circumstances allow.

What do you love most about being in Downtown Appleton?

We love all the great people, small businesses and events that make Downtown Appleton a thriving place to live and work!

If you were a super hero, what powers would you have?

The Inn would be a transformer, so each room would transform into what each guest likes and expects for their experience.

If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be and why?

William Rhodes, had our home built at 318 E Franklin in 1897, which is now our B&B

Beth & Ron Van Deera; restored the home and created the Franklin Street Inn in 1994

If you had to describe your business as an animal, which one would it be and why?

A dog – friendly, loyal, and accepting of all

What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten?

Oxtail soup with plantains

Something else fun and unique about your business you want to share?

Guests have enjoyed meeting and spending time with our dog Kodi.  He sits with them on the porch or occasionally he plays with them in the backyard.
