What is the name of your business and who is the owner(s)?
ACOCA Coffee - Kim and Bill Wetzel
What service(s) and/or product(s) do you offer?
Fresh roasted coffee, pour-over coffee and coffee drinks, Nitro Cold Brew. In addition, a wide array of bakery items, soups and small salads.
What inspired you to start your business?
We did not start the business. The young couple who did, had a strong passion to bring fresh roasted, pour-over coffee to the area. They were ahead of their time. I long harbored a desire to get into the food hospitality business and, thankfully, our paths crossed.
What are 3 words that describe your business?
Positive

If your business had a theme song, what would it be?
“Born To Run” – Bruce Springsteen; I am east coast, born, and raised person. Got to love Bruuuuucccee! A close second was “We Are Family” – Pointer Sisters
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
“Don’t ever say your beaten, you may be tired, but you are not beaten” – Coach Chuck Kane – high school football; Pennsbury Falcons, 1977, Fairless Hills, PA.
What's something about your business nobody knows?
Longest running coffee roaster in down town Appleton, since 1997. Also, urban legend has it that the original owners won it in a poker game.
What do you love most about being in Downtown Appleton?
The walkability, vibrancy, and esprit de corps of the triad of downtown business owners, ADI, and the City of Appleton.
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
To be The Empath. (Original Star Trek episode, 1968)
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would you choose and why?
Thomas Jefferson – to learn from one of the architects of the best governed country (to date) would be amazing.
Abraham Lincoln – His story, especially while leading us through our greatest internal struggle as a newly formed country, would be incredible.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt – Powerful leader through the depths of the Great Depression and into WW II. This was another critical period in our nation’s history. So much to learn.
Martin Luther King – What a dinner conversation we would have with Abe and Martin Luther King at the same table. One of the strongest leaders in America, and all through the power of non-violent, civil protest.
If you had to describe your business as an animal, which one would it be and why?
Labrador Retriever – always looking to make our customers happy and feel at home.
Something else fun and unique about your business you want to share?
We try to keep it simple, we just want to help people find a little more positivity in their day with a visit to ACOCA.
