What is the name of your business and who is the owner(s)?

Appleton Beer Factory, Jeff Fogle-President, Ben Fogle - Brewer & Operations Director

What service(s) and/or product(s) do you offer?

We have an obvious and delicious priority – beer!  We also have a full bar & a menu filled with house-made dishes.

What inspired you to start your business?

Jeff worked on Anheuser Busch systems around the country & was inspired to weld up his own system to homebrew with his dad in the 80s.  Jeff taught his son, Ben, and the 3 generations of Fogles had so much fun brewing together that we started to dream of sharing the beer love with everyone!

What are 3 words that describe your business?

BEER

If your business had a theme song, what would it be?

In heaven there is no beer.

That's why we drink it here (Right Here!)

and when we're gone from here,

our friends will be drinking all the beer!

Im Himmel gibt’s kein Bier,

Drum trinken wir es hier.

Denn sind wir nicht mehr hier,

Dann trinken die andern unser Bier.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Make time for yourself.

What's something about your business nobody knows?

We built the brew system and renovated the building into a brewpub ourselves on nights & weekends after our day jobs for over 3 years and 25,000 hours.

What do you love most about being in Downtown Appleton?

We love being a part of a community that has a great appreciation for art and for supporting local ventures.  We are incredibly grateful to the many musicians, artists, and businesses that make the downtown area a great destination!

If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?

Teleportation

What 3 items would you take with you on a deserted island?

ABF Beer, Knife, Matches

What's the weirdest food you have ever eaten?

Pickled Quail Egg

Something else fun and unique about your business you want to share?

We just canned our beer for the first time - Millhand Hefeweizen!   Our Hefe has consistently been one of our best selling beers, and while we haven't really entered it into contests, we were very proud that our Hefe won the "People's Choice" award this year at the Heidel House Brewfest, and it has won similar popular votes at beerfests in previous years.
