What is the name of your business and who is the owner(s)?
Bazil’s Pub & Provisions, Olde Town Tavern, & No Idea? Downstairs. Mark Behnke owns each of these distinctly unique bars.
What service(s) and/or product(s) do you offer?
Bazil’s offers a vast craft beer selection, reasonable priced & delicious bar food, as well as the most comfortable bar stools in town. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch bartender Devon dancing in a bow tie.
Olde Town Tavern offers over 130 whiskies, retro canned beers, and custom-made cribbage tables.
No Idea is famous for $1 mystery shots or $2 mystery beers. A pool table, darts, and arcade games are available.
What inspired you to start your business?
I couldn’t even tell you- it just happened.
What are 3 words that describe your business?
Beer, Burgers, and Bobbi Jo
If your business had a theme song, what would it be?
“Where everybody knows your name”- the theme song from Cheers
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Pay your bills on time, all the time.
What's something about your business nobody knows?
The building burned down in 1967 and was rebuilt in 1969.
What do you love most about being in Downtown Appleton?
Downtown’s history and watching it grow. Experiencing over 31 years of constant change. What’s so cool about downtown is that there is always something new.
What 3 items would you take with you on a deserted island?
Beer, Liquor, Wine
If you had to describe your business as an animal, which one would it be and why?
A Chameleon because we always adapt to our surroundings.
If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
The mullet.

Bazil’s Beer Club is a great opportunity to explore the world of craft beer. By drinking your way through a list of 100 craft beers, you learn a lot about different styles of beer as well as your personal taste. Bazil’s also features different brewery for a free sampling the second Tuesday of every month- come experience craft beer with us!
