Downtown Creates...Paint Out Online Auction Now Open!
Friday, August 21 marked Downtown Appleton's very first Downtown Creates...Paint Out event hosting 18 local artists and their easels during the entire day. The artists started at 9am with their 16x20 blank canvas and began painting beautiful masterpieces.
Spread up and down the entire stretch of College Avenue, community members could stroll the sidewalks and see the artists hard at work. By 6pm, all blank canvases were beautifully decorated with paint sharing the artists' stories.
Judges walked the ave scoring the pieces on Friday evening awarding the following prizes:
- First Place Grand Prize of $500: Samantha Wanner
- Second Place Prize of $250: Maria Anholzer
- Third Place Prize of $100: Todd Schabel
That's not the only prizes and awards! The People's Choice Voting is live on our Facebook page for YOU to go and cast your vote for your favorite piece for a chance for that artist to win another prize! To vote, all you have to do is hit "like" on that photo! Voting will be up until Sunday, August 30 at 11:59pm.
