LIGHT THE NIGHT MARKET - Know Before You Go May 2024

Experience the magic of Light the Night Market as we illuminate Downtown Appleton with an enchanting open-air event.
Where: The Light the Night Market will take place in Downtown Appleton on College Avenue between Superior Street and Durkee Street, and in Houdini Plaza.
When: Friday, May 17th, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
What to expect:
- Vendors: Explore, shop, and create with local vendors, including Downtown retailers, artisans, and crafters.
- Food: Indulge in a variety of food options prepared by local food trucks, vendors and Downtown restaurants.
- Music: Enjoy live music and performances throughout the evening. The Houdini Plaza Stage. will feature a Magic Show with Mischief and Magic from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm, the Taiko Drummers from UWO from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm, and music by Avenue 55 from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
- Roaming Entertainment: Navah Mirage Winged Fairies, Dragon & Lion Dancers with NEWCA.
- Other Entertainment: Fire & LED Show with Cloud Nine on Morrison Street, Aerial Performances by Fly Circus & Aerial Arts between Superior Street and Appleton Street, and Rainbow Lights & Glow Painting Demonstrations with Cosmo Joe in Houdini Plaza.
- Bars and Wristband Booths: Southeast side of Appleton Street, along College Avenue and at the corner of Morrison Street and College Avenue.
- Parking: Ramps and metered street parking are available throughout Downtown Appleton. Ramps accept cash and credit cards. Here are the ramp locations:
- Yellow Ramp: Entrances on East Washington Street and East Franklin Street
- Red Ramp: Entrances on South Superior Street and North Appleton Street
- Green Ramp: Entrance on West Washington Street and North Division Street
- Meters can be paid using the Passport Parking App, which is free and easy to use. For more information on paring rates and procedures, visit the City of Appleton Website
- Restrooms: Portable toilets will be located in several areas, including Houdini Plaza, the “parklet” space on the north side of College Avenue, to the west of Copper Rock, and other TBD spots.
- Payments: Cash is required for beer tickets, wristbands, soda and water from the two bar locations. Forms of payment accepted by other craft and food vendors may vary. An ATM will be located in Houdini Plaza for your convenience.
- Pets: Unfortunately, no pets are allowed at the market. Violators may be fined by the City of Appleton, so plan accordingly.
- Trash: Trash receptacles are conveniently located throughout the market. Help keep Downtown clean by disposing of your trash properly. The City of Appleton also provides trash and recycling cans on the College Avenue sidewalks.
