Chalk on the Town Registration
We all seem to have memories of sidewalk chalk from our childhoods. Sidewalk chalk and summer fun just seem to go hand and hand! Appleton Downtown has just the event for you to relive your childhood love of chalk and experience the magic of artists transforming the College Avenue sidewalks into beautiful chalk masterpieces!
How do you become one of the artists who works their magic with chalk? It’s simple! Registration is now open to take part in the chalk competition along College Avenue on Friday, July 20. Are you “In It to Win It” or “Just For Fun”? Each level has their own series of prize opportunities. “Just for Fun” will have first and second place People’s Choice Award of $50 selected by the public. The week following Chalk on the Town (July 23-27) check out Appleton Downtown’s Facebook page to vote for your favorite piece.
But wait, it gets better! If you register for “In It to Win It,” you have the chance of wining the grand prize of $500 cash. This grand prize will be decided by an esteemed panel of judges that Friday evening beginning at 6:30pm. Along with the grand prize winnings, second place will go home with $250 and third place with $100. “In It to Win It” participants will also have the public voting for their favorite piece during the week of July 23-27 for one People’s Choice Winner of $75.
You must pre-register by July 15 to claim your spot in Chalk on the Town: there is no cost to participate, just supply your own chalk and other materials! For more details on the different levels, click here!
